Why Vaucai?
When you name a company, what you are really choosing is the story you want to tell.
Vaucai is a tribute to Jacques de Vaucanson, an 18th-century French engineer almost nobody remembers, and who quietly changed the way the world worked.
Vaucanson mechanized the silk looms of Lyon. Where before there had been dozens of weavers repeating the same operation over and over, he designed a perforated mechanism that wove the pattern on its own, with precision, without error and without tiring. He did not take the craft away: he freed the artisan from the repetitive part, so that he could concentrate on what only he knew how to do.
Two hundred and fifty years later, we are doing the same thing. Anyone's digital life is full of repetitive tasks: emails to answer, calendars to line up, reminders you don't want to forget, notes scattered across four different places. Your Vaucai takes care of that part when you ask it to, so that you can give your time to what really matters.
